Junior Support Engineer – full-time

For our Dutch premises (Nieuwegein – Utrecht region) we are seeking a Junior Support Engineer with a strong understanding of VoIP administration, telecom technologies, and a passion for customer support.
In this role, the majority of your time will be spent providing technical assistance into provisioning and routing systems. We are looking for a Junior Support Engineer who is eager to learn and grow within the telecom software space. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of VoIP and networking who wants hands-on experience with real-time systems, customer support, and telecom infrastructure. You’ll be trained on our proprietary software and supported by senior engineers as you develop your expertise.
Reporting directly to the Head of Support (who respectively reports to the Chief Operations Officer), you will work closely with our Support and Senior Support Engineer and will be part of a team of Developers, VoIP & Architect Engineers. Your main interactions will be with your direct colleagues and COO.
What will be your roles?
- You will assist in troubleshooting and resolving VoIP-related issues, including SIP signaling, call routing, and provisioning errors.
- You are in direct contact with customers to gather issue details, replicate problems in test environments, and escalate when necessary.
- You learn and support our proprietary provisioning and routing engine, including configuration and monitoring.
- You monitor system logs, alerts, and ticket queues to proactively identify and address issues.
- You document support cases, resolutions, and known issues in our internal knowledge base.
- You collaborate with senior support engineers and development teams to track bugs and support updates.
- You participate in scheduled training and mentorship sessions to build knowledge of SBCs, telecom protocols, and real-time systems.

Who are you?
- You hold an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- You have a basic understanding of VoIP technologies and protocols (e.g., SIP, RTP).
- You hold a very good command of English. Any additional language is a plus.
- You feel familiar with Linux systems and command-line tools.
- You can prove strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn in a fast-paced technical environment.
- You command good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- You show a proactive attitude and the ability to ask the right questions when facing technical challenges.
- You’d be eager to face exposure to SBCs (e.g., Oracle/Acme Packet, AudioCodes, Metaswitch, Ribbon).
- You, proving experience using Wireshark or similar tools to analyze network traffic would be nice to have.
- You show interest in understanding call flow diagrams, routing logic, or number translation tables.
- You feeling familiar with databases (SQL), scripting (Python, Bash), or REST APIs will be a strong advantage.
- You have an Interest in cloud-native infrastructure or telecom automation.
