We are seeking a team member to work as a Work Preparation Engineer at Ballast Nedam International Projects for the Saba Black Rocks Harbor Project, located in the Caribbean, with the following qualifications.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • The preparation for all aspects of the project and to assist the construction team during execution.
  • It needs to be noted that there will be more persons working on preparation, but this candidate should be well-experienced so he/she can take up any tasks required in the work preparation for the scope of the project as described above.
  • Tasks will include, but are not limited to; preparing work methods and risk registers, material approvals, assisting in preparing specifications, timelines, and conditions for subcontracting, reviewing subcontractor/supplier proposals.

Reporting will be to the Engineering Manager and strong interaction is required with the Construction Manager, Plant & Transport manager and Technical office.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Civil engineer with 10-15 years of experience in civil and marine projects.
  • Experience in marine projects such as jetties, quay walls, ports, bridges, landfalls, and subsea pipelines.
  • Willing to relocate to St. Maarten.
  • Proficient in English (spoken and written).
  • Open, fair, and frank communication is expected.
  • Practical and flexible attitude, willing to communicate and cooperate with all levels of the project team, subcontractors, and client representatives.
  • Able to work independently and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Pro-active attitude and problem-solving mentality required to be successful in this role.
  • Persons without an engineering degree but with relevant experience will certainly be considered.
