Your Impact

As a Practice Lead, you will work with the Open Source Software Development area leadership team to shape and give substance to the area. You will help build a culture of collaboration with colleagues, customers and partners, inside and outside Ordina. A culture that matches the ambition to work as a network organization, an ecosystem in which experts work together to achieve the best solutions.

You lead a practice of about 20 Java software developers and architects. You undertake and inspire from the content and build the practice with your team by attracting both talented and experienced engineers from the Java Community. You take them further in their career and help them to be the better version of themselves all the time.

You have a good relationship with the customer, you help the customer focus on the problem and by developing solutions using open source technology you and your team ensure that we can help customers accelerate even better. You are a key player in the entire customer journey, from the initial conversation, preparing the quotation to delivering the solution.

Customer focus, team building, enthusiasm, creativity and entrepreneurship are therefore crucial in your role as Practice lead.
Within the Area Open source Software development we help clients accelerate by designing and developing solutions that run in the public or private cloud. We do this by using our expertise and Ordina solutions that are based on Open Source technology.

Where you’re going to get started

The Area consists of more than 200 enthusiastic professionals divided into five practices where we work with technologies such as Angular, React, Vue, Flutter, Python, Scala, Kotlin and of course Java. Because it is precisely for the practice ‘Java Technologies (JTech)’ that we are looking for a Practice Lead.

At the Practice JTech, you work together with passionate, creative developers and architects at the coolest Java club in the Netherlands. Our experts at JTech are proud, engaged, active at conferences and meetups, and are at the forefront of software development.

As an area, we realize innovative solutions for our customers. We do this in multidisciplinary teams for the entire product life cycle. We help customers define a product vision that we translate into a Minimum Viable Product. We develop that MVP and bring it to production. Then we build this version every sprint as we continue to learn, improve and grow as a team and as professionals.

This is you

As Practice Lead you have an overview of your practice and a strong drive to work with your team to find and implement the best solutions for our customers. You have a vision of the market and use this to generate business, create solutions and shape projects.

As Practice Lead you stand for your professionals. You know how to bind these professionals to you and take them on assignments with clients. You let them be the best version of themselves based on the content of the profession. You create commitment, facilitate and inspire your team to keep developing;

As a reliable partner for the client, you build teams that can meet expectations and create the environment needed to do so;
From an entrepreneurial perspective you see opportunities and have the right skills to lead winning bid processes. You take ownership to deliver with the team what is promised. As part of the Open Source Software Development leadership team, you contribute to strategy and execution of building a portfolio of innovative solutions that help accelerate our customers.You are a good conversational partner for the professionals in your practice. Together you follow the latest trends & developments and thus determine the direction of the practice.

You know your way around an organization and look for common ground with other practices/areas in order to find solutions for our customers.

A relevant completed HBO or WO education;

At least 5 years of experience in agile software development;

At least 2 years of experience in managing a team and facilitating on-development of your team members;

Knowledge and experience with applications based on Java, Springboot, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes and Cloud platforms;

A track record on delivering solutions for customers and delivering on what you promise;

Leadership focused on inspiring, motivating and engaging your team and your customers

Focus on collaboration and a solid network, both inside and outside Ordina.
